An iPad Pro M4 Retrospective.

The time has come for me to share my thoughts on the latest iPad. This is less of a review and more of a retrospective after a chunk of time using it on a daily basis.

The model I am using is an iPad Pro 13-inch with that nano glass tech. Whatever that means. Right off the bat being an avid iPad Pro using, having owned every single model. I am not too sure the nano glass holds huge benefits, it is definitely clearer in sunny conditions but only fractional.

As I write my thoughts on my iPad with a magic-ish keyboard I like to think Apple modelled this device as a between product for the old-gen iPads and a mac. However it certainly doesn’t hold all the keys a mac holds.

What do I use my device for:

  • Animation (daily)

  • Illustration (daily)

  • Script writing (almost daily)

  • A light version of what I’d do on my mac.

For the majority of all of these, the iPad THRIVES. I mean thrives. It’s such a beast of a device, from animating to illustration the device doesn’t sweat. However it certainly doesn’t plug the full mac gap.

Positives:

  • Animation powerhouse.

  • Illustration powerhouse.

  • The screen is gorgeous, reading, reviewing & general day-to-day is magical.

Negatives:

  • Nano-tech, no big deal. Can’t see a huge difference.

  • Expensive with all the additional elements.

  • Advertised as a laptop alt but doesn’t do everything as well as a mac book.

As always, thanks for reading!
